I’m so glad you’re here! This entire art form has been a labor of love. I was in search of a hobby that could be an escape from my day job and I found it when I was elbow deep in slip, slinging mud across my back porch.
My intentions were to create art and be generous in giving; but I found so much more in this craft. Pottery has pushed me physically, intellectually, and creatively. My back muscles were not ready for all the micro movements my arms would have to figure out. My brain wishes I would have paid more attention in chemistry class so I could have ruined a few less pieces in a glaze fire. Slowly but surely I’m starting to morph from trying to recreate someone else’s art to figuring out my own artistic style.
The ceramics community is one of a kind. I’m honored to be a part of it and to continue to foster the magic. Other artists have welcomed me in and openly shared their failures, solutions, and successes with me. I began videoing myself mostly because I enjoyed watching other pottery videos. So I figured if I made my own I could go back and watch those on a bad day too. However, after I became brave enough to start sharing those videos with you all, you began to cheer me on in such a bigger way. So THANK YOU!
