Meet Samantha
Samantha is a self-taught potter in the heart of Central Florida. Growing up her grandmother, Baka, would always share her pottery finds from local artists and thrift stores deep within The Great Smokey Mountains of North Carolina. Slowly Samantha accrued a small collection of pottery.
During the pandemic being an educator became extremely stressful and Samantha found herself deep in the algorithm of Instagram relaxing to other potter’s videos. One day her Boo accidentally broke a ceramic chip and dip bowl. Why buy a new one when you can just learn to make it yourself? So, Samantha began wheel-throwing.
She is very inspired by some of Instagram’s bigger ceramicists but is slowly finding her own artistic signature. You will find structural inspiration in her carvings and functional purpose behind her creations.
